day 23 to 35!

Time really flies man! Today is the start of my last sem in poly, another 3 to 4 months to graduation already! It felt like I just joined SP not long ago though.. HAHAHAAnyways, my fit challenge journey has been going well, in fact I think it has became better. Before school started, I made it a routine to gym for 6 days every week and each day I'd run off 400+ cals on the treadmill and then work out on my abs and arms. I'm trying my best to maintain this routine even when school starts of course. I just went down for a 9km run, the longest I've ever ran yet, even though I couldn't make it for the gym because my friend and my class timings couldn't match :( But I'll still go gym whenever I can, and if I can't then I'll just go down for an hour long of running! I guess I finally started to like running somehow now. :P Day 17 to 22!

Been a while since I last posted about my fit challenge and definitely, it has been going well, or maybe even better than before. Woots!First of all, I'm not going to write what I did everyday at the gym anymore because they are all basically almost the same everyday, but what I can say is what I have started to change in my gym routine. In the first 10 plus day of my challenge, I was more determined to train for 2.4km run so on the treadmill I'll set a higher incline and do lots of resistance training as well as intervals until I reach 300 calories burned. And these all uses my calves which in the end sore out very fast when I was on the treadmill and honestly the feeling always make me wanna give up half way through. It was only like until yesterday that when I was sorting out my saved tabs that I came across some articles favorited by myself about exercises and diets. There was one article about slimming down your calves and thighs and how to know if your thighs are big because of fats or muscles. Mine was big because of fats, sadly. HAHA. Anyways, one definite thing to do is to do endurance running instead of resistance running. Because endurance running doesn't really impacts your calves, meaning that your calve muscles won't be used that much and so, wouldn't become too big due to more muscles formed. But at the same time, endurance running tones and shapes your calves into a thinner and better shape. Another thing is that we often think that if I spam do 100 sit-ups, crunches, push-ups or any other muscle-developing exercises, we'll convert our fats into muscles, or we'll get muscles out very fast if we maintain it in the long run. No. Firstly, fats cannot convert into muscles, neither will muscles turn into fats. The most most important thing to always keep in mind is that: Fats cover up your muscles in the body. Of course, when you do your muscle exercises, your muscles will definitely be toned and will become bigger in time. But on the outside, you wouldn't see your abs forming or you may look fatter instead because of your body fats. We all have muscles and abs. Just that they are covered by fats. So the thing is to get rid of those fats. And that is what I am trying to do at this point of time. So for these 5 days I've been spending more time at the gym, around one and a half to two hours, doing endurance running and muscle exercises. Usually it would be around 50 to 60 minutes of endurance running on the treadmill and if I felt like it, 30 or 60 minutes on the elliptical trainer and then finally the muscle exercises, mainly targeting abdominal muscles and biceps. So far I felt that endurance running is better than doing resistance running. Because I can't feel the soreness on my calves during running so it makes it easier for me to continue running and slowly increasing the speed on the treadmill. And endurance running has made it easier for me to want to continue going back to gym the next day. So it's kind of like a motivation for me. Hopefully I'll get rid of the extra fats all over my body soon. And I'm giving myself 60 more days to end this fit challenge and see the results. Hopefully, I'll still get the time to gym during school, or I guess I'll just go down for a run whenever I am free. Cheers to another 60 more days of fitness challenge! I can and I will finish this! Day 12 to 16!

Finally back after a while! :)Actually I procrastinated for a few days so I didn't bothered to post a new entry about my fit challenge HAHAHA. But! I've started again, thankfully, and this time my motive is a little different from the start. I started my fit challenge for 2.4km run, training and shaping muscles and body. So I've been doing lots of cardio, sit-ups and training on my thighs. But because I procrastinated for like 3 days during this 5-day period, my stamina went all the way again, oops, and so I've decided to mainly focus on my calves, arms and overall body fats. So yesterday, which was day 15, I've started to do slow jogging intervals and today, day 16, was slow jogging as well. I decided to pause morning runs for the moment until the haze becomes better so my gym session everyday has been prolonged. In addition, I did 50 reps of sit-ups, 50 reps of different intensity for my arms and 30 reps of thighs workout. Quite a fulfilling day actually. I was on the verge of giving up on treadmill but still I tried my hardest to force myself to continue running. So I changed to a lower speed and did endurance running instead, which I greatly enjoyed! I actually completed 6.8km in total today, approximately 6km of running and 800m of walking in 65 minutes; 5 minutes was cool down so the 800m was basically cool down. And another thing I'm trying hard to do right now is eating clean, which is honestly very hard. Because my mum always top up the tidbits at home, and they are like my favourite ones so it's super hard to resist them omg. And if I start eating, I basically have no control over how much I eat, so it's disastrous. So what I'm doing now to resist the temptation to eat tidbits is to be and feel full. It basically means eating meals on time but of course, not too full. The best would be if there's plenty of fruits! And of course, filling myself up with lots of water! And oh, the best part of today: SAUNA! Sauna is the best thing ever. (Y) |
