Day 17 to 22!

Been a while since I last posted about my fit challenge and definitely, it has been going well, or maybe even better than before. Woots!First of all, I'm not going to write what I did everyday at the gym anymore because they are all basically almost the same everyday, but what I can say is what I have started to change in my gym routine. In the first 10 plus day of my challenge, I was more determined to train for 2.4km run so on the treadmill I'll set a higher incline and do lots of resistance training as well as intervals until I reach 300 calories burned. And these all uses my calves which in the end sore out very fast when I was on the treadmill and honestly the feeling always make me wanna give up half way through. It was only like until yesterday that when I was sorting out my saved tabs that I came across some articles favorited by myself about exercises and diets. There was one article about slimming down your calves and thighs and how to know if your thighs are big because of fats or muscles. Mine was big because of fats, sadly. HAHA. Anyways, one definite thing to do is to do endurance running instead of resistance running. Because endurance running doesn't really impacts your calves, meaning that your calve muscles won't be used that much and so, wouldn't become too big due to more muscles formed. But at the same time, endurance running tones and shapes your calves into a thinner and better shape. Another thing is that we often think that if I spam do 100 sit-ups, crunches, push-ups or any other muscle-developing exercises, we'll convert our fats into muscles, or we'll get muscles out very fast if we maintain it in the long run. No. Firstly, fats cannot convert into muscles, neither will muscles turn into fats. The most most important thing to always keep in mind is that: Fats cover up your muscles in the body. Of course, when you do your muscle exercises, your muscles will definitely be toned and will become bigger in time. But on the outside, you wouldn't see your abs forming or you may look fatter instead because of your body fats. We all have muscles and abs. Just that they are covered by fats. So the thing is to get rid of those fats. And that is what I am trying to do at this point of time. So for these 5 days I've been spending more time at the gym, around one and a half to two hours, doing endurance running and muscle exercises. Usually it would be around 50 to 60 minutes of endurance running on the treadmill and if I felt like it, 30 or 60 minutes on the elliptical trainer and then finally the muscle exercises, mainly targeting abdominal muscles and biceps. So far I felt that endurance running is better than doing resistance running. Because I can't feel the soreness on my calves during running so it makes it easier for me to continue running and slowly increasing the speed on the treadmill. And endurance running has made it easier for me to want to continue going back to gym the next day. So it's kind of like a motivation for me. Hopefully I'll get rid of the extra fats all over my body soon. And I'm giving myself 60 more days to end this fit challenge and see the results. Hopefully, I'll still get the time to gym during school, or I guess I'll just go down for a run whenever I am free. Cheers to another 60 more days of fitness challenge! I can and I will finish this! |
